Taking time for yourself
I have taken some time away from my blogs for some time now, and I am just now putting my toes back into the pool so to speak. I was having some health issues, and they compounded which left me in a state of mind that hasn’t been helpful with working.
Depression can hit any of us at any time. I am not saying clinical depression, but just having a rough patch (even if that patch can last a long while).
Sometimes you just have to step back and let yourself recover, and that’s what I have been doing. I am going to say sorry to my readers for being incognito for a while, but I’m back now and going to stay on top of my blogs.
Getting back into the grove of things
Being that I haven’t written anything in a while, I am going to ease back into it. I have always had the bad habit of jumping headfirst into things.
After an injury you shouldn’t just try to go back to doing your 110% workload you were used to, because that may cause you to re-injure yourself. If you keep pushing when you’re not fully recovered, you may never really fully heal.
Trying to rush the healing process can end up leaving you hurt worse in the long run.
Not really a medical term, and some may say brain farts/hiccups. After being away from writing for a while it can be hard to find the grove again.
Much like a cramped muscle, until you work out the mind cramp it’s basically useless.
Stretching it out to get it working properly again is really the only option, so that’s what this current blog is going to do for me by stretching my brain out (so to speak).
Writers block is a real thing believe it or not. I have experienced it a few times in my life, mostly in college, but here I am working on my blogs again.
They have made several movies about how tough writers block can be, one of which Limitless has since been turned into a television series.
Like many obstacles in life a person just has to find the motivation to get over that hump in the road. Just to push through isn’t always enough, but it makes for a good try. For some people, they just need to find a muse or something else to focus on till they can get out of the hole they are in.
Working from home
It can be difficult for some to work from home, acting as your own boss. That difficulty stems from the fact that you don’t have someone looking over your shoulder to make sure that you are actually doing the work that you are supposed to be doing.
Without supervision from someone else one can have a hard time finding the motivation to get back to work on their own. While that is a negative to working from home, it can also be a great blessing.
I love not being micromanaged by a supervisor that is breathing down my neck while trying to work. However, I do have difficulties managing my time to work on my blogs.
Television and movies can be a big distraction for me, especially if I start binge watching some series on Netflix or Amazon prime. Although, sometimes that distraction can be a blessing instead of a curse, if for no other reason than just to clear my head.
I love the fact that I can sit in my living room in my pj’s while I’m working on my blogs. I can take breaks as I like, and I don’t have to answer to anyone for the breaks that I take, and that’s REALLY nice!
If I feel like it, I can even drag my laptop with me and pack up to go out on the beach for the day, and work from my beach chair. That Gulf Coast beach view is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful white sands and stunning blue or emerald green water depending on the day of the week you see it!
Great days ahead
I am at a point where I’m ready to push myself hard, and make this a viable source of income for me and my family instead of just waiting and hoping.
Like many others, I have hopes that one day all the pieces of the puzzle will fit together perfectly. Many hopes that one day they will find that winning lottery ticket (I’m certainly one of them). The belief that one little ticket you pick up at the convenience store on the way home can change your life is not a strong belief.
I’m not going to lie that I myself have fantasized about winning the lottery, and all the kind-hearted and great things that I could do with that money. Just another dream to win it, and not a very viable one at that. It would certainly be nice, but the odds are insurmountable.
Don’t stop dreaming though! I am certainly not saying that you should stop dreaming about your future, because I believe that if you stop dreaming you may never find the motivation to move above your station.
Dream BIG! Never stop dreaming, because much of our modern technology was dreamt up by someone, and if you stop dreaming what’s going to push you to rise above.
No time like the present
Do you have a plan to fulfill your dreams? If not, now is the time to start planning. If you dreams are big don’t be afraid, just narrow them down into smaller tangible goals that you can achieve.
If you take the big dream ad break it into smaller achievements than you can focus on those dreams and get them done a little at a time.
Don’t rush yourself, because if you push too heard you may lose sight of your dream, and burn yourself out on the road to achieving that life long dream.
Never, NEVER give up on your dreams, and they will be yours!
All of my best to you and yours,
